The lakes. The mountains. The location. You're in the center of it all when you visit the Eagle Bay, New York area any time of year. In the spring, summer and fall, the opportunites for outstanding Adirondack outdoor recreation are endless. There are more than 3000 lakes and ponds and 6000 miles of rivers and streams in the Adirondacks. There's also Adirondack biking, fishing and hunting. Consider a chairlift view of the mountains at McCauley Mountain Ski Resort, seaplane rides, river rafting, tubing and scenic train rides, as well as unparalleled opportunites for birding and wildlife watching. Enchanted Forest in nearby Old Forge is New York's largest water theme park. It is perennial family-favorite vacation destination. Adirondack Hikers will enjoy numerous trails, including the ever popular and easy 40 - minute trek to the top of Rondaxe Mountain (aka Bald Mountain) with it's firetower and panoramic views of the Fulton Chain. Here you can forget your worries while watching the sunset from an Adirondack chair on our lakeside deck. So come "share our good nature".

The short lived summers are exquiste, but well worth the trip from anywhere. The popular Fourth of July celebrations in nearby Old Forge give evidence of the way the celebrations should be with games for all ages, food, entertainment and music. Read more about local events in the online version of the Adirondack Express. It has been said that the Adirondacks have four seasons, all of which can be experienced in a single day in April.

The construction of a new 27,000 sq. ft. Arts Center gives evidence of the area's long-standing interest in the arts and humanities. They regularly offer workshops on pottery, jewelry making, woodworking, painting, weaving, photography. The center also hosts national pastel, watercolor and quilting exhibits.
